Fiona Fitzgerald is the National Zone Leader for GE Healthcare Canada. Fiona has also worked at GE in the U.K. and the U.S., and has been employed with GE in Canada since 1995. She has been involved with academic/industrial partnerships since her first role as technology transfer liaison for Cambridge University and GE many years ago.

Along with a Bachelor degree in Applied Biochemical Sciences, Ms. Fitzgerald also has a post graduate diploma in Management Sciences. In addition, she is a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Fiona was given the Leadership Excellence Award in 2008, and was nominated in 2004 for the Echo Award, a marketing campaign competition in the United States, for a frequent buyer campaign she set up.

Fiona is a certified trainer for strategic selling in the United States and Canada. Her goal as a trainer is to help salespeople focus time and energy on opportunities that are most likely to become profitable over the long-term. She has also implemented training courses for new recruits to speed profitability for her organization.

Fiona has also taken on a stretch assignment to build a multimedia training program for the GE Life Science organization. This program, called The Forum, sets out to educate employees about market trends, emerging technologies, and new scientific discoveries in biotechnology.

She sits on various Government of Canada Federal committees, including NSERC's CREATE program and several NSERC Centre of Excellence Evaluation committees.
