Overview: 

Responsible for leading the technical teams through product development following the established quality system and PDLC.  This includes owning the project plan, budget, schedule, resource plan, and business risk register.  Additionally, ensuring the team produces all necessary quality documentation with appropriate time and audience for reviews, holding project milestone reviews, and communicating progress and issues internally (product manager, Director of Engineering, Senior Leadership Team, etc.) and externally (i.e. customer) in a timely manner.

Responsibilities: 

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:  Manage the planning and execution, progress and completion of multiple projects.  Working with functional experts to ensure all project activities comply with applicable regulations, guidelines, quality standards while ensuring alignment with company policies/processes for the delivery of projects.  Author and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, business risk registers and communications to upper management.  If necessary, participated in audits and vendor selection.

QUALITY AND DOCUMENTATION: The Project Manager is responsible to author and maintain the project plan, along with schedule, budget and business risk assessment.  Also, they are to ensure the project is executed and adherent to the quality system's PDLC and that all required documentation is completed to these plans and the highest quality.  This includes leading the team through all product development milestones and updating the Director of Engineering and when necessary, the Senior Leadership Team.

PROJECT TEAM PERFORMANCE:  Identify, assign and monitor the completion of interdisciplinary project tasks that may include the  software design/architecture, coding and testing activities, data collection, risk and document management, statistical analysis, hardware design, development and testing, and the preparation of customer reports and communications ensuring tasks are completed on time, on budget and meet or exceed quality, regulatory and customer standards and expectations.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT: During project planning, work with the Business Development team and product manager to estimate scope/effort. During project execution, act as the primary contact with the customer (alongside Business Development and the product manager) to provide periodic updates on the team's progress, to communicate technical/schedule issues, and to resolve customer concerns/queries in a timely manager.

Education: 

Undergraduate University Degree in Computer Science or B.Eng. in Mechanical, Computer or related Engineering.

Experience: 

3 to 5 years industry experience in a regulated medical device environment

Skills & Knowledge: 

Required:  Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel and Visio

Preferred: PMP Certification
