Carol Richardson, HBSc
Carol Richardson led the establishment of CIMTEC as a new, not-for-profit corporation. In a prior role as a member of the Imaging Research Laboratories team at Western University, she helped attract funding for the Centre by working with colleagues to finalize an application to the Centres of Excellence in Commercialization and Research program. Currently, she holds the position of Board Secretary as well as Program Manager of the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) Imaging Program.
In the past, Carol was the Manager of External Relations, Strategic Initiatives and Evaluation with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Institute of Infection and Immunity. During her eight years in that role, she was responsible for the evaluation of Institute initiatives and the development of external relations with national and international stakeholders in infection and immunity research. She was the lead for the CIHR Pandemic Preparedness Strategic Research Initiative and the Institute Vaccine Initiative, and helped the Institute’s Scientific Director, Dr. Bhagirath Singh, respond to emerging health challenges.
Carol has prior experience in research management and administration at Robarts Research Institute and Western University, and an Honours BSc in Genetics.
